About Hypotenuse Analytics
Hypotenuse Analytics is building an AI-powered monitoring platform across three domains: structural health monitoring of physical infrastructure using IoT sensors and satellite data, real-time video analytics for surveillance and anomaly detection, and synthetic media detection for KYC, enterprise communications, and media verification. The three products share a common data and inference layer, which is what makes the architecture interesting and the engineering genuinely hard.
We are at seed stage, running our first pilots in 2026. The team is small. Everyone here touches real problems from day one.
A Note on AI
AI tools are part of how we work. Use them. What we evaluate is judgment and craft, and our bar is higher because of it. Low-effort generations with no thinking behind them are easy to spot and will cost you the role.
About the Role
We need someone who can build the interfaces and APIs that sit on top of three very different data streams: live video feeds and anomaly alerts from our video analytics engine, sensor readings and satellite telemetry from our SHM pipelines, and deepfake scan results from our detection models. The frontend needs to present all of this in real time.
On the backend you will be building the Node.js layer that routes requests to the right model or service, whether that is AWS Rekognition in our early phase, a locally deployed model on our GPU machines, or a third-party satellite data API. You will work closely with whoever is running the cloud infrastructure and with the founders directly.
What You Will Work On
- Build the Next.js frontend: live video monitoring dashboards, SHM sensor visualisation, alert feeds, and deepfake scan result UIs.
- Design and maintain the Node.js API layer that proxies requests to our Python model backends, AWS Rekognition, and external satellite and IoT data APIs.
- Handle streaming data on the frontend: partial results, real-time confidence scores, multi-feed video correlation.
- Work with the cloud team to define API contracts for model endpoints and keep integration points clean as the stack evolves.
- Set up frontend observability: error tracking, RUM metrics, alerting for broken data streams.

What We Are Looking For
- A GitHub profile with at least one real deployed application.
- Strong fundamentals in Next.js and Node.js. The specifics you can pick up as you go, the foundations you need to already have.
- Some experience building UIs that deal with live or time-series data.
- Comfortable working in a codebase that is still being figured out.
- 1-3 YOE
Good to Have
- Exposure to AWS managed ML services, video stream handling, or IoT data on the frontend.
- Prior work at a startup or a personal project with real users.
